I absolutely love looking back over old photo albums and things I wrote when I was younger, most of them bring back great memories. And even the memories that are not so great, become great when I remember how and with who I overcame them with.

Yesterday I was reading Psalm 77 (I am reading a Psalms or Proverbs everyday this year) and verses 11 and 12 caught my eye. They read from the Message Bible as, “Once again I’ll go over what God has done, lay out on the table the ancient wonders; I’ll ponder all the things you’ve accomplished, and give a long, loving look at your acts.” To me that was so powerful as I thought, “Do I ever go back and remember all the things that God has done for me, like I reminisce over old photographs?” Sadly, the answer to that was…no.

However, the advantage of being a Christian is that God is constantly molding and giving us second (and third, fourth, fifth etc.) chances to get things right. We aren’t perfect people, but we serve a God that is perfect, and willing to perfect us. Everyday is another opportunity to get closer and go deeper with God. I used to beat myself up, when I didn’t read my Bible or pray enough, but then I realized that if God doesn’t hold it against me…then why should I?

We have to make memory books of all the miracles that God has worked, so when Satan raises the question of God’s faithfulness, we can easily and indefinitely counter his lies. When we remember all the things that God has done in the past, we can have rest in the present and peace about the future! If He did it once, He can and will do it again!

Happy memory book making and have an amazing week! Today is post #51…thanks for joining and staying on this journey with me!

Until Thursday,
