humanness

Although, I don’t consider myself too prideful to admit when I’m wrong, I will say that my personal pursuit of excellence, often leaves me feeling guilty for being human. As much as I attempt to plan out my words and actions with good intentions, sometimes I still fall short.

That, my friends is the innate humanness within us. We are going to slip up more than once and miss this bar more than twice, in our lifetimes, which is why we have mercy. It was mercy that spared us from The Cross and it is that same mercy sparing us now, from our shortcomings.

“At that point Peter got up the nerve to ask, “Master, how many times do I forgive a brother or sister who hurts me? Seven?” Jesus replied, “Seven! Hardly. Try seventy times seven.” -Matthew 18:21-22 MSG

Mercy and forgiveness must flow outward from hearts that have first, forgiven themselves. God knew that one could only give mercy, after they have received it and experienced it for themselves. So what did He do? Well, He initiated, a “Percolation of Mercy”.

This is how it works…

Percolation of Mercy

  1. God showed compassion towards us by sending Jesus.
  2. We then, model that mercy within our hearts as we make blunders.
  3. And when people are abrasive, it is that same mercy rushing out of us to react with love, instead of hate.

Don’t be afraid or ashamed to apologize…especially to yourself.

Until Sunday,
