How unimaginable is it to say that God knows not only the site of every dandelion living, but also where each of its seeds will replant themselves after dispersal? I have no evidence to prove it, but I would bet there are more dandelions on earth than human beings…yet even God knows the storyboard of their fleeting lives.
“For I know the plans that I have in mind for you,” declares Adonai, “plans for shalom and not calamity—to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 TLV
I love how this translation uses the phrase, ‘in mind’ to describes how our lives have a permanent and reoccurring spot in the forefront of God’s thoughts. He just didn’t throw some heaps of clay together, breathe some air into each of those piles and then ship them off, mass production style, to Heaven with a tattered napkin worth of plans for their lives. Carefully, he carved the contours of our faces, smiles, fingers and toes. All the while, thinking, “Their face will bring glory to my Name and their smile will be like sunshine on the darkest of days. Even the works of their hands will be blessed as the sight of their feet ushers in joy!”
Yes sir & Yes ma’am. God had big things in mind when He made you and He still does. Except now, instead of making plans for you, He is enacting plans for you. By the world’s appraisal of you, you might be the least decorated candidate and most likely to fail, just as a dandelion seed seems bound to wherever the weather conditions take it. Yet is not man that determines your fate, but God, just as dandelions seeds only end up in the location that God originally planned.
The journey to God’s unprecedented plans for your life is going to have some rain, wind, snow and probably even a bit of hail, but I have no doubt that your heavenly appointed destination will be reached!
Thought I’d share the flower revision of Jeremiah 29:11, penned by Yours Truly, God:
“For I know the plans that I have for you, just as I know when a flower will bloom, where it’s location will be and how the colors will coalesce.”
